Been playing with found objects – this is a copy of a piece in A Sense of Place exhibition

week 3

Another good day – this time practising soldering and sawing (not really piercing cos we didn’t.) also a quick demo on how to dome, cut and solder to achieve a piece similar to that in Sense of Place.

Week 2 – milling

Spent a great day in the workshop today – milling, hole punching, drilling holes and using the pendant drill for textures. Aluminium is fabulous for textures. Today’s tip – get a small (A5) notebook with large ring wire binding and remove the wire. Use 2 large diameter binder rings through the holes. Then you can stick in lots of metal samples without it going all bulgy on you.
