Looking back to the sunny day when I took pieces down to the Fisher Gallery in Pittenweem.

Their summer show opens tomorrow, June 24th 2017.

These are the six pieces they will be showing, so if you are in Pittenweem for ENOS, or any other reason, maybe just pop in and see them.

RSA Open 2017 – pre selection

Excited, I’ve been pre-selected for the RSA Open 2017 with this piece, Firenze, that I developed at Alchimia in Florence when on the Bradshaw travel bursary. I hope that it makes it through to final selection. I need to get on and finish it…

Copper smelt 3

coppersmelt2

The second ‘hole in the ground’ smelt produced copper in pellets, it was probably just a smidge too cool, but pellets will be super handy for casting.

We did a third smelt, but I don’t have photos as yet. It produced more consolidated copper at about the same ratio of ore to metal.

New bowl design

cast bronze with sea water patina

I’ve been trying out this bronze bowl around the house to see how it looks.

It’s a new design -slightly lighter and more open than the first bowl in this series.

It is made from recycled bronze with shell impressions, using a ceramic form that I created.
