Wade Gallery and Fisher Gallery Summer Exhibitions

However, if you want to see my work there are several pieces at the Wade Gallery in Elie, as shown above. The Wade Gallery opens at weekends until August 18th.

Jan and Richard at the Fisher Gallery have re-opened for the Pittenweem Arts Festival and have several pieces of mine in a silver copper alloy and in iron.

So although I’m not at showing at Pittenweem Arts Festival this year there is an opportunity to see and buy my work in the East Neuk over the festival period.

Keny, Fraser and Nicola are also at other venues this year.

Sea-drift

I finished this piece on Sunday. It is part of a bone counter with a little tab from an old necklace and a hammered silver ring.

I also took a photo of the rising moon as I probably wouldn’t wake up for the eclipse.

Seaweed necklaces

This year I’m making jewellery for Open Studios and Pittenweem Arts Festival using what I think I’ll call ‘sea-drift’. The seaweed on which the design is based was storm-cast on the beach.  These ‘mermaid’ necklaces are saw pierced silver, hammered and formed. Two have moonstone drops and are oxidised, I have sent these to VAS ALIGHT 2019 in Edinburgh.

Pittenweem Arts Festival 2018

Pittenweem Arts Festival is on again, do head down to Water Wynd, Venue 70 to see us. (That’s Keny Drew, Nicola Wiltshire, Frazer Reid and I) The net loft looks really good this year with better lighting and the introduction of white fabric to lift the space.

I have a selection of copper, iron and bronze bowls as well as some jewellery.

Some lovely pieces were made by the people at my workshop yesterday, a super eye for design.

I’ve since made a couple more pairs like these earrings as I think the colour and design is good (shame about the photo)

Four at Fifty-three

Pewter flow bowls

I’ve been making some small pewter flow bowls, again a request from an ENOS visitor and getting ready for Pittenweem Arts Festival (venue 53; 4th-13th August)

They are cast in sand moulds, include a piece of seaweed and are poured in stages  (I’m not sure how to describe that) so that you can see how the metal flows.

Earring commission

I’ve finished these two pairs of Silver Darlings earrings which were commissioned by a couple of visitors to ENOS, I hope they like them. I intend to make a few more for Pittenweem Arts Festival (Venue 53). They are mother of pearl, silver and moonstones; inspired by the herring lassies who followed the silver darlings (yes those are silver herrings)
